Freeride NZ, Wanaka
The Wanaka heli biking terrain is sub-alpine and we cater for all levels of ability and experience although helibike riders are expected to have an intermediate skill level and of reasonable fitness. At one end of the scale we can offer full day rides on challenging tracks or for the less adventurous, easy going cruises down grassy double tracks taking in the breathtaking scenery. The choice is yours.
Included is a full suspension, Commencal mountain bike. These are the top of the line, 6inch of travel in the front and rear with disc brakes. Also included with the rental bike is your choice of 2007 sixsixone full face helmets, giro open face helmets and dakine mountain bike gloves. We are more than happy for you to bring your own bike and equipment if it's of a high standard and it good condition.
Your day begins with a helicopter safety briefing, then an equipment familiarization on one of our bikes, or a safety check of your own bike.
You will be taken on a short local scenic flight then dropped off at the start of your journey on the top of a mountain. You have unobstructed views of the terrain you are about to descend, before hopping on your bike and letting gravity take you to the bottom, ensuring you a exciting day out!

Head Guides of Freeride NZ Ltd hold Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) qualifications. All guides have a minimum of a work place First Aid qualification. All guides hold Public Liability insurance.
