The team at Helibike.com are made up of experienced tour operators and mountain bikers:

Vernon Reid is an avid Mountain biker, rock climber, skier, and tramper. He knows the countryside around Twizel like the back of his hand. We challenge you to find someone who knows more about the walking and biking trails locally than Vernon! His Claim to fame has driven Tom Cruise around Mount Cook while he was filming The Last Samurai, drove Orcs from Mount Cook to Twizel for the big battle scenes and got to watch parts of LOTR being filmed! He also bakes a mean banana cake! He also owns Discovery Tours who are highly recommended for their local  Guided Hikes and Lord Of the Rings Tours .


Sara Leadbetter is an experienced Tourism Business Advisor specialising in Internet Marketing for businesses, and a mountain biker from the days when mountain bikes were no more than road bikes with different tyres! She's mountain biked in countries all around the world, her favourite mountain bike trip was a week spent in the French Alps where she didn't have to ride a single uphill all week thanks to their inter-linked ski lift system!


Mark Wallace-Bell is our bike expert. At home on any bike, road or mountain, he's happy to ride all day every day, uphill or down. A psychologist, a registered nurse and a practicing Behaviour Change Consultant , he's fascinating and entertaining to talk with. He promises not to analyse you...

Conservation:

We're all passionate about treating this beautiful country with respect. We recycle just about everything, waste nothing and offset all our carbon produced by the helicopter use. Our moto:

We used to be based in the iHUB Outdoor Activity and Information Center in Twizel, New Zealand. Following the local downturn in tourism, we've made the decision to put our money into new bikes, trails and improving your customer experience, rather than an empty shop! As a result, our helibike and mountain bike trips will now leave from the Twizel town center.
