Vernon Reid is an avid Mountain biker, rock climber , skier, and tramper. He knows the countryside around Twizel like the back of his hand. We challenge you to find someone who knows more about the walking and biking trails locally than Vernon! His Claim to fame has driven Tom Cruise around Mount Cook while he was filming The Last Samuri, drove Orcs fromMount Cook to Twizel for the big battle scenes and got to watch parts of LOTR being filmed! and bakes a mean banana cake. |

The company is part owned and managed by Discovery Tours Ltd, a Twizel based tour company specialising in outdoor experiences throughout the McKenzie Country and Mt Cook National Park.
Rather than just promoting our own Helibike business in Twizel, we decided to set up this site to promote helibiking across New Zealand. Helibiking allows riders to access areas previously inaccessible to them, to spend more time cycling in a day than without the heli option and, to have the opportunity to experience some of the best scenery and mountain biking in the world.
Conservation:
We're all passionate about treating this beautiful country with respect. We recycle just about everything, waste nothing and offset all our carbon produced by the helicopter use. We believe:

Helibike.com Location:
 We have a new Information Centre, Booking Office and Mountain Bike Shop in the iHUB Outdoor Activity and Information Cente, Twizel, New Zealand, next to Poppy's Cafe. The iHub is the only mountain bike shop in this part of New Zealand, covering Twizel, Tekapo, Ohau and Omarama. We hold a selection of emergency bike parts and accessories and have some basic MTB clothing and equipment. Our mountain bike shop trades under the local name of Mountain Bike Mount Cook and shares a huge retail space with Discovery Tours who have a range of outdoor clothing and equipment.
 We have a full outdoor activities booking and information centre staffed by experienced Information Centre staff, many of whom are keen local mountain bikers and some of whom are our MTB guides. Consequently, pop in for some local information on Helibike Mountain Bike Tours, the weather forecast or simply to share information about your favourite New Zealand mountain bike tour. We can also highly recommend the coffee at Poppy's Cafe next door!
